The intriguing building methods of the industrial age have inspired me in making architectural installations and sculptures. Mirroring that of bridges and old factories, my installations mimic this particular style and aesthetics; the only difference is pulling them out of its' context, and displaying them within the space of this office. The instant coherence here is the theatrical element I wish to convey in this piece. The once labour-intensive methods of making these structures have been replaced with the use of modern, lightweight and more practical materials; yet, still preserving its' visually impressive, grandeur and over-engineered qualities.
