Untitled # 2 - rebalancing the self
c-print
Working with in an expanded field of sculpture my practice negotiates relationships between subject, object, time and event. Shifting between material form and experimentation with media, the work develops an open-ended enquiry into the forces at work in the definition of subjectivity, its transformative potential and the elusive and ambiguous nature of experience. This often manifests itself as an interest in the moment when objects disappear or dissolve, thus encouraging the dehiscence of the object, allowing entropy to become the strength of the work. The work is characterised by a sense of transience and alchemical transformation.
